2023-11-06 Travel Day
I slept pretty well until 2:30. I got up at 3:00 and let Louise sleep. I put our cheese and Marmalade in the suite case and loaded them in the van. Louise got up around 3:30, and we were out of the house by 4:00. It was a very foggy night, so the trip to the airport was slow – 80-90kph, but the roads were good.
We arrived at ParknFly just after 5:00, and were at the airport by 5:30. With the construction, I couldn’t drop Louise off at the airport, so we had to both use the shuttle – with my extra foil bag.
The line up at the WestJet terminal was a gong show, and there had been a problem with my pre-purchase of the extra luggage bag. It seems to me that this happened last time as well. Next time, I will have better documentation.
Anyway, eventually the lady took our boarding passes and went to the back. She came back with my three luggage tags. I never found out if it was something I had done, or their system.
Once we got our luggage checked in, the rest was clear sailing. I tried to sleep on the plane and had some success. Louise watched a couple of movies.
Immigration went very quickly, but getting our luggage was a bit of a gong show with a very crowded area. Eventually we got through. Total time at the Airport was about an hour – not bad.
We met our driver and fellow passenger Andrea. She is staying right in front of Wyatt’s. She seemed nice. It is her second time here – her boyfriend is staying for five weeks.
Wyatt, Charles, and Zyra were all there to greet us when we got out of the van. Like coming home.
Louise and I walked down to the beach and went for a short walk. The water was very warm. We won’t be using our full wetsuits – that is for sure! It was a beautiful evening.
We went up to the rooftop to watch the sunset, and met some of the other guests, a family from Quebec, Alexia, and Manon, with their two sons. One in College and the other High School. They are all windsurfers, but trying wing foiling. The other guests are Gersy and D………
We also met Tristin, from Northern California. He will be working at ProWindsurf for the winter as well.
Louise and I went to the Baja Grill for supper. It was great as usual! Jersey and D arrived later, so we chatted with them on our way out.
We went back to the Party Palace, but no one was there, so we went to our room, unpacked and then went to bed – very tired.
