2023-11-11 Remembrance Day - ProWindsurf

 2023-11-11 Remembrance Day

Louise and I slept in until 8:00.  We didn't have any grapefruit (pineapple) left, so I made fried tomatoes with the scrambled eggs.  They turned out pretty well.

We had a lazy morning.  I caught up on this log.  We went to the Star Market for groceries, and when we got back, we said goodbye to Alexia, Mono, Ludo, and Emmanuelle - such a nice family.

I had forgotten to buy Coke, so Louise and I went for another drive.  We checked out all the construction around our January home, I bought some coke at the local grocer there, and we checked out the Mini-Storage place.

We stopped for a Tamale on the way home, which I ate for lunch.  The wind seemed to be up, so we went down to the beach.  I took out a 6.5 V4 Swing wing (It never went into full production)

It worked, but the wind was very up and down so I stood around a lot and then pumped like crazy when there was a gust.  It worked - sort of.  Louise was on a 5.5 and had a good session, but same thing.

We came in for a rest.  The wind seemed to have picked up a bit, so Louise went out on the 5.5.  She said she got really really close to foiling. The wind was up and down, but the gusts were stronger.  She came in after a few reaches, pleased with her progress, but concerned about the big wind and surf!!

I took her 5.5m wing and had a pretty good session, although the wind was very up and down.  Sometimes I would drop off a foil in a turn, and then just stand around trying to balance and wait for some wind....  Still, it was a pretty good session.  I came in when I got so tired I was starting to make dumb mistakes.

Tristin, Thomas (Wind Spirit), and Charles were all making it easy.  Phillip went out windsurfing on his 4.8, but came back because it was so up and down he wasn't sure he could get back.

Louise and I quite around 3:30.  It was a pretty good day for both of us.

We cleaned up and I worked on photos until around 5:00.  We then went to the Party Palace and talked with Tristin, Jerzy, and Dorota.  At 6:00 we left for Marlin Azul where we met Al and Ingrid for supper.  Louise and I split the Chicken Cordon Blue Especial - it was excellent!

When we got back, Andy, George and Judy were all in the Party Palace.  We had a good chat.  Judy is "IN LOVE" with Julian Cieto - apparently he spent some time with them and their grandson Max this summer in the gorge.  She said she would happily trade - but that we must support Julian no matter what - he is such a good kid!

We left around Baja Midnight - and headed to bed - very tired again.  Also, my elbows needed some attention - I will probably wear my rash guard tomorrow.
